mediator states e36. pcb failure – antiboil p/s

have discon a/b p/s got e35 (iirc). checked a/b p/s against service manual and was dud, so cleared memory and replaced a/b p/s then tested still got e36, so cleared memory, then disconnected analogic p/s and got e31 which implies it was fine, no blockage in sump either.

so before i order £150 of pcb, does anyone know if a: it will work, and b: is it worth it or will the board screw up again next time filter blocks??? like this time???

advice pls, cos cust isnt short of a few bob and would have prefered a bosch when flats were built 3 years ago anyway…

PS already spoke to EMW – cant repair the elux square control boards. gutted 🙁

PPS control pcb doesnt look too bad could just be corrupted or would element have screwed things up? not sure of a basic resitance value for this, but dryer element heats up in diagnostics ok… so assuming it is board, but yeah, any advice be greatly accepted. goes thru 40* wash ok for first few mins (158 displayed time wash, resets to 158 at 154 mins tho)

oh yeah, light elderly use so unlikely to be carbons… im lost 🙁 is it just another magnetkitchens-we-want-you-to-build-it-as-cheap-as-possible-s- it-sees-out-min-12-months job ?

Likely to be the dryer element thats causing this, so try disconnecting all wires off dryer element, try wash programme again & it should be o.k on wash settings. Have had quite a few like this, check dryer element & you will likely find its low down to earth.

didnt really want to go and spend half an hour putting the board back in as its shredded my knuckles getting it out. ah well now youve sown seeds of doubt in my mind i guess ill have to go back… if only to know for sure 😥

Always worth a search. Here‘s one result; there are others.

yeh i did have a hunt first and it did make for interesting reading.

although you sound like i might have been wrong to discount it,

only reason i did gloss over that was that it didnt seem to be having issues with the analogic ps – i.e disconnected the hose to it, got e11 or e12 or something (cant remember which) and also electrically disconnected a/l p/s and got e31 (like you do when you disconnect them/they fail after last weeks zanussi encounter) so just assumed was working ok.

will heave the lump out and down to the workshop i think if i cant get it sorted within an hour, and hope some of you elux geeks are online one evening this week :baby:

Just an update, for others reference, heater element must have failed.

I did have a hunch it might have been that but it fooled me that it was ok by warming up during diagnostics, so dont be tricked 🙂

Tried it on a normal wash with the element disco’d and worked fine, so thankyou peoples for saving the customer heaps on bills, and saving me some face.
