No display, but when the selector dial is rotated quite rapidly, the display goes from dead, to greyed out. Apparently it has happened before and then corrected its self. Have looked for obvious such as loose connectors but nothing found. Machine is only a couple of years old.
Had this only the other day!! I suspected the main pcb at fault but it actually turned out to be the dryer element low insulation and instead of giving the ED4 code as normal it had done this instead. Disconnect the element and it should work. Please let me know if it did !!!
Worked a treat, thank you very much. What lead you to the heater – was it trial and error or an educated guess? Is the heater removable without splitting the washer frame, and would you recommend replacing the gasket?
The dryer element being low test seem’s to create all kinds of gremlins on this range so I just thought I’d try it. No need to strip down the machine just take the two securing screws out the top of the heater box and the one’s securing the fan (no need to remove the fan at all) and the front duct and you should be able to move the heater box to the left and slightly up enough to get the heater out. no need to replace the gasket.
