I have a AEG L16830 washer-dryer approx 3 years old which has stopped drying – no error codes, but no heat either with the “intelligent” drying programs or the fixed time ones. I followed the (excellent) instructions given on this board to open up the machine and cleared the condenser of a substantial build-up of lint and scale. However, still no drying. I’ve tested the two thermistors (at the exhaust and at the base of the condenser) and both have a resistance around 5k which I understand is about right. The 110C thermostat and 150C safety stat both have essentially no resistance. The dryer heater elements read about 40 and 60 Ohms which again suggests they are ok. When the machine is run on fixed time drying I can see the condenser is being fed water from the inlet valve and the fan runs ok although a bit noisy – I had to remove a lot of lint from the fan and its housing and maybe I’ve not got everything but it certainly throws the water around in the condenser ok.

I’d be very grateful if anyone has suggestions of what to do next – I seem to have reached a dead-end.

have seen a few AEG/zanussi/ electrolux that have a small relay board behind the main module that causes many heat problems also had a broken wire to lower thermistor even though the wire looked ok externally.
