Hi All,
First post 😀
Our AEG Lavamat 50630 which is about 10 years old has started to overheat the water to such an extent it has deformed the soap drawer.
Is it something as simple as the thermistor or thermostat that has failed?
Does my machine have both?
To test, is it a case of measuring the resistance across the terminals of thermistor, and if it changes from ~1 Ohm to a higher resistance when placed in hot water it is working OK?
For this machine is the heater element thermistor accessed from the front or rear?

Thermistor needs replacing. Fitted into the heater element and easy to replace. Also check that the connector plug is OK as that can cause same symptoms. Access via rear panel removal.
