AEG Lavamat 6100 not pumping out water

We have a 14 year old AEG lavamat washing machine which has stopped pumping out.

Basically we are left with water in the machine and can’t pump or spin it out. I have moved the drainage cables about, put them in a bucket of water at floor level, checked the drains, powered the machine down and up repeatedly and still no joy.

From reading the forums it seems the most likely cause is something blocking the water pump. How do I access the water pump in this machine? How much is it likely to cost to repair/replace and is it worth bothering on a 14 year old machine? can anyone give an idea of price/name of a decent repairer in Petersfield area if it’s beyond my skills to do it?

Hi Jonathan,

Is the drain pump running? If not it’s liable to be faulty and I think it should be this drain pump that’s in that machine. That’s a compatible as the genuine one is a stupid price.

There’s a generic guide to drain pumps here that explains a bit about them.

And, there’s a few repairers that will cover that area as they’re within 25 miles of you, you can search for one here.
