ParticipantI have an AEG Lavamat 76689 update machine sat in my workshop with an intermittent fault.
I can get several sucessfull washes out of it, then the next time, I press the start button, the machine locks the door as normal, pumps out then just flashes the start/pause light.
I have taken the door lock off and took it apart, all looks ok.
If I go into the test cycle of the machine, it seems all the valves, circulation pump, drain pump, and motor are functioning ok, but It displays a E34 fault while in test.
Curious if this is a PCB fault but cant decide as it will work 8 times out of 10, then when it fails, it seems to take many attempts to get it going again.
I have the TDS disk and I have had a look about it, but not sure whats going on with it.
Just wandered if anyone has had this fault before and found the reason behind the fault.
Thanks in advance,

Forgot to say, I have scratched up the connections on the PCB and all the block connectors look fine..

I had an analogic pressure switch fail and it gave the same symptoms you describe. But that was after a door interlock had blown the PCB and the fascia PCB……… 😥
After I fitted those and it threw up the E30 figure I practically had heart failure!! And all on a 16 month old integrated washer drier; quality eh?Steve.

Advanced engineering from Germany.. LOL I used to swear blind to my customers this was the ultimate brand of washing machine to purchase. I now reserve that thought. I reccomend Bosch now, they seem great! I love fixing washers, it’s what I do and always have done for nearly 20 years. The old AEG’s were pretty much faultless but the later ones seem to be a bit scary and still pricey!

Just a Zanussi in a dress. The German factory has now gone, production could be from anywhere. They’re just trading on the name. People will twig in the end – the AEG name will be gone in a few years time.

As Barack Obama said:
“If you put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig!”
On the fault, you may as well as the analogic pressostat want to quickly test the heater insulation the next time it fails.
