AEG Lavamat Turbo 18830 Washer Dryer

Has anyone had a problem with the above model where the door won’t open. The programme has finished, the green light is on, we have heard the click to signal that the door is unlocked but it just won’t open.

We have tried repeating a short programme (several times) and pressed the pause key many times over but to no avail.

We have also checked and cleaned the filter just in case this is having an affect ….. no change.

Now I have washing inside the drum with no way of getting it out. ❓

Sounds like the plastic handle has snapped inside the interlock. Most independent engineers will either carry one on board or be able to supply one cheaper than calling the manufacturers (Service Force).

Many thanks for your post. Not sure what you mean by independent engineer. I have contacted Ferrers but they were given to me by AEG ….. is there someway to access independents?

Navigation bar, left hand side……… click on “Repairs@” to find your local UKW repairer.

In the meantime – get a couple of feet of stout string. Ease the middle of the length under the edge of the door by the handle, pull the ends flat across the front of the machine towards the hinge side and pull firmly. Get it right and it will pull the door hook and open the door.
