AEG Lavamat Turbo L12843 and E23 error code

Hi,
I have a 5 year old (or so) AEG Lavamat Turbo L12843 Washer dryer.
It recently devloped an intermittent E20 fault, which is machine draining.
Yesterday it decided it was bored of this and now refuses to start any cycle or mode. I interrogated the fault codes and got E23, which is one of the following:
Defective Triac for drain pump
Faulty drain pump
Wiring fault
Main Board Fault

Can anyone give me any hints or tips on how to isolate the fault?
Fault finding by subsitution can be a bit expensive!

Start by checking the pump. (The most likely thing to be clapped out given its age)…. 😉

hi,
thanks for the hint.
It turned out to be a dog walking ‘poo bag’ wrapped around the impellor of the pump.
Always check the simple stuff first eh?
