AEG Lavamat W1250 Electronic stops with error code

My AEG W1250 stops about 10-15 minutes into wash cycle with ‘END’ light flashing. Light flashes 5 times, pauses and repeats. Does anyone know what this error code means? Water doesn’t appear to be heating. Could it be a time-out for no heat? Thermostat? Element?

E50 group error – all codes relate to motor problems. I’d start by checking the carbon brushes; these are a consummable item. Some good info here:

Thanks for the info. The drum does turn agitate periodically until it stops with the error code. Why would the machine not be heating up though? I’ve checked for power at the heating element with the machine running and there isn’t any.

Any ideas?

I’ve checked the pressure switch and the carbon brushes – all OK. I’ve also checked the thermostat – also appears to be OK. Could it be the Thermal Overload Cut-off? No power getting to the element.

Check for broken wires. If the wiring is ok then it is most likely a pcb fault. all other error codes in the 50 group are pcb related.
As for not heating i would not expect to feel much heat 10 – 15 mins into the cycle.
