ParticipantHi,
ive seen various posts on this and tried to follow the guidance given with no success. I have an AEG lavamat was her dryer albeit a slightly different model number to anything I’ve been able to find. Mine is 75670NWD.
As per other people’s problems mine won’t dry. I can select the dryer setting and press go and with washing in it does stuff for a while (maybe 20mins) and then finishes. The washing is still wet and cold. I have tried it with nothing in and it does heat up, albeit if I select it to a 2hour programme it doesn’t go for that long, it goes for maybe an hour.
some people have suggested cleaning the condenser – I’ve taken the top and back off and can’t see anything which looks like a condenser to me. I’m not sure if I need to take the front off on this particular model?
ive also checked various connections, primarily the heater (can only find one?) and motor which bothe seem to have readings in line with what people have suggested. I’ve checked the sensor on the front which reads about 6kOhms at room temperature and another two sensors (one on the top and one on the side of the box) which are both zero ohms.
anybody know what to try next?

Moderatorwould have to look it up but there is quite often another sensor to measure return air mounted at the bottom

ParticipantHi Dave, where would you got to ‘look it up’? I’ve not had much luck doing internet searches and the manual obviously doesn’t help.
also, any advice about how to access the condenser?

Moderatorah maybe
when I have looked it up your is one of the ones that has had problems with the wires feeding the front top ntc
where the wires go through the black tape they can break over time and there is a modification needed to sort it
check the wire is not broken

ParticipantSo I finally got round to looking into this tonight and you’re absolutely right – the wiring to this sensor was open circuit on both wires. My machine is not exactly as per the photo but I identified the right bits and started stripping back the black stuff and noticed a few kinks. As there are no easily accessible terminal blocks to check continuity I decided to take the plunge and cut the wires suitably far away from the kinks. This allowed me to check and I was amazed (and thankful!) to find both wires open circuit. So I started taking off the black stuff and after a while both wires pulled clean out of it, just like that – luckily there was a good length left on the wires connected to the sensors so I’ve only had to put one join in. It was clear that the wires had been broken for quite some time, definitely not something caused by me. Only thing I don’t know is whether there are any further problems down the line – as I previously said, accessible terminal blocks for testing are not easy to come by! Machine currently on test, let’s see what happens. Thanks for your help. Dave

ParticipantHow did you get on? If you are still stuck send us all here your pnc product code to help identify your machine having typed in your model on the AEG spares website that model you state brings up nothing. How old is your machine?

ParticipantYeah, works perfectly now thanks! The machine is not that old, maybe 3 years or so? What’s bizarre is that people in the know (I.e. the helpful chap on here) have obviously been told that there’s a known fault that develops in certain models yet I as a customer am not informed of anything and then expected to fix it at my own cost when it goes wrong. Anyway, rant over, it works now, I’ll let you all know the next time it breaks down!
