ParticipantHi any AEG bods out there? I just fitted a waterdistiruter to a lavamat 72000 update, its a friends machine, the electrical connection are in a different place on the new one but the plugs fitted ok. But on testing it it will only fill through the prewash. Is this normal friend wasnt at home to ask.
thanks in advance

Would it be a Lavamat 72600 update you mean?
I haven’t fitted one for over 2 years now but from memory it is very important to get the connection right. And it sounds to me as perhaps in this case you haven’t? 😥
Best go have another look at those connections to be sure? 😉

thanks the two plugs seemed like they can only go one way, because of the shrouds they fit into, there is a 4 wire and a two wire, the position on the new motor are in a different place, I havent done one of these in donkeys, didnt know if it only filled through the prewash first on all progs, didnt have a load to put into it and it didnt take a deal of water in, didnt know if it would take water through wash if a load was in absorbing the water.

Dunno cab to be perfectly honest, but I think that if you had connected it wrong it more than likely would show a programme error or not operate at all?
So maybe it will be OK and only your friend will be the judge when the machine is put through a complete wash cycle?….Fingers crossed eh? 😉

have had a look at the sequence chart it would appear that it does fill through prewash then it senses the load before filling through the correct channel. thanks

KeymasterSo it is… always take first from prewash until first level is reached. The only mistake on fitting one of those is just when you remove “plastic key” from distributor board and insert him 180 degrees… but you will see that: all time will get water even above second level of pressure switch (perhaps will get error when overflow level will be activated).
