Hi. I have this vented tumble dryer that has developed a minor but annoying fault. It will sometimes simply refuse to reverse. I switch it on, it runs for a few seconds and stops. I switch it off and on again (maybe several times) and eventually it will relent and run through the cycle with no problem.

It sounds like a worn or dirty bush somewhere but I wonder if anyone can point me where to start looking before I strip down the wrong bits!

Best to quote the 9 digit PNC number as theres 13 different 37400s.
The reversing is most likely done by a triac on the p.c.b. You could check that theres nothing mechanical preventing it from turning, roller tensioner on the belt would be a good start, then check cabling to motor is good & connections are tight, perhaps stick on a new capacitor to see if it cures the problem.
