This AEG washing machine cuts out at no particular point during the cylce and returns to the original start time in mins and just sits there doing nothing, any ideas.
Do the interface to main board leads give trouble as I notice it is a different part number to the common Zanussi type which I seem to change on a regular basis.

    Thanks Graham

Have you accessed the diagnostic & if so was there any fault codes?

No I did not access the diagnostic system as I am not that familiar with this model and the customer has seen no fault codes on the display.
I will try and look up how to access the fault codes and go back.

    Thanks Graham

Fault code found to be E52 Motor,Board or wiring.
Motor brushes and wiring Ok, they dont want to spend more than £100 so looks like a new machine to me 😥
    Thanks for your help.

Damp, usually in the form of condensation on brush holders, can give funny faults with Lux electronics. Worth checking that it’s all dry before giving up.

Motor overloading sounds like whats happening, theres a high temperature cut-out in series with winding (of most commutator motors ) if the electronic doesn’t get signal from tacho when motor should be on, it registers E52 fault (no signal from tacho).
Check armature is clean & brush contact is good.

If appliance finishes short programme o.k & fault only happens on long programmes its likely the motor is getting too hot.

Could be pcb or wiring though.
