ModeratorOldish German made job.
Switched on, pump running even when door open, classic flooded base methinks, confirmed by tipping to side.
Never been to this exact model before, tried to take main door panel off to get at the front plinth screws, removed the three screws on either side, panel was now loose but I couldn’t pull it off, seems to be catching somewhere, didn’t want to force it. Then tried to remove a side panel, took top off, screws at back removed but could not see what was holding the front edge of the panel in place.
Sadly the rating plate has gone completely so I couldn’t resort to TDS for any help.
Customer was using Finish Powerball and rinse aid. :rolls: so oversoaping could be an issue I suppose.
After draining the base it did complete a full prewash without problems.
Questions for anyone who has experience of this model, how are the door panel and side panels secured, does this machine have any history of oversoaping into the base?
Jim.

Hi Jim.
The door & side panels are no real problem, just remove top first & the rest is follow your nose really.
As for water in the base, usually it is a leaky circ pump or blocked regen. dosage, not usually oversuds but anythings possible.

I did have the top off but couldn’t see what was holding the side panel at the front edge.
There are two or three screws at either side of the door as well as the three on the inside but they appear to be just holding the trim on.

Thanks Mike,
Narrowed it down to the 5040 WGB (White Great Britain) sadly only service bulletins, no manual.
Looks like it is 15 years old and they are having the kitchen gutted this year so it will be replaced shortly.
I just loath to start pulling at things if I am not sure, particularly when the customer is well known to me, used to be our doctor, now retired.

i know this model very well…..normal leaks on this are :
the side water chamber dumping water into base during fill….u need to replace the whole unit if blocked with food
the circ pump leaking
the hose from the heater to top spray arm perished
I always call the I30 fault or leak into base tripping the anti flood as ‘THE KISS OF DEATH ‘ lol, as it can be more than one leak and is always a real hassle call esp with built in !!!April 22, 2010 at 10:01 am #318313iadom

Ah..but how do you get the lower door panel and the sides off?
The customer reports that the machine has done four cycles perfectly so will have to see how it goes. 🙂
