AEG Oko Lavamat 610 – broken programme selecter knob

Hi all – I’m trying to source a replacement knob, due to the disintegration of the original 15 year old one.

The nearest I’ve been able to find with some basic googling is this:

This item is shown as suitable for the Lavamat 605 and 617 is listed, plus various other models, but not the 610.

Can anyone tell me if it will fit the 610, or tell me where else I could look to get a replacement.

Have you tried A.E.G website? Enter PNC number & search.

Hi Tom – thanks for the offer.

E-nr is 605.637.104

At Seamy’s suggestion, I did try harder and found the part number (645 282 295) on the AEG site but it looks like it’s unavailable. I’d be really grateful if you could suggest alternatives.

I thought one partial solution would be to try to transfer the identical knob from the temperature control, but it’s not coming off easily and I don’t want to be too forceful. Is there a trick to doing this?

Hi rwd.

You are quite right that the part for your model is no longer available. However, there is an alternative. It is the white version but it will fit (from the E-nr. you supplied you currently have the black version). The part number you need is 8996453025711. You can order it directly from the AEG or Electrolux website for £11.55. It is not in stock so may take a couple of weeks to arrive.

Don’t try to force the old knob off if you think it isn’t designed to, you may have to take the lid off the machine where you may find a holding screw. Another member might be able to help you there!
