ParticipantMy faithful washing machine has started jumping around the kitchen when on certain rinse cycles…….something tells me that it maybe the driving belt – I think I saw it on telly……! Apart from this it seems to be working OK
What do you think maybe wrong, can I easily repair it myself and where would I obtain the spare parts? Many thanks

I’d start by checking that the machine is draining promptly and fully. Filter bottom left is a good starting point.

And if the filter is clear?
I’m having the same thing with my aeg oko lavamat and changed the pump as I thought the old one might not be working. New pump, works fine, the machine is still jumping about and it looks like the drum is trying to get out of the casing.February 13, 2008 at 8:55 pm #242828Penguin45

Machine needs to be square to the floor, all four feet down. Beyond that, you’re looking at replacing the suspension damper units under the drum. They do wear, especially the right hand one, as the soap drawer weeps water into it.
Power off before removing any panel.

the machine is square on a flat concrete floor so I’ll have a look to see if it is the suspension damper. When the machine is off the drum certainly seems ‘floppy’ inside the casing. Is it a difficult job to replace these dampers? If it needs brute force, I won’t be able to do it.

It’s a bit like shock absorbers in a car – there should be resistance if the drum is bounced. Bear in mind that you also need to deal with any leak. It’s usually the soap hose that does it. Remove lid and back panel, get the torch out and look for the white streaks.
Replacing the suspension struts is quite simple – 17mm spanner required IIRC (been a while) and a bit of brute force. Soap box is a bit of a s@d – control panel and inner panel need to be removed to release the actual box. If the hose is leaking, you’ll need that and the plastic flange which locks it into place.
Thought you were buying an ISE10?

The filter is all clear on mine too.
These suspension dampner units, how much would they cost and where could I buy them? From your posts, am I right in saying the a leaky soap box is a common fault that contributes to the suspension units requiring replacement and you need to check/replace pipes as well as suspension units for a full repair?
Thanks

To effect a full repair, you would need the r/h suspension leg, the soap hose and the locking insert at the top. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will be able to supply any components required. We would need the eNr/pnc number for correct identification.
Anyway, don’t buy anything yet – get the covers off and find out what’s going on, first.
Power off for anything other than observation.
