A very sad start to 2014 for me – something has gone wrong with my beloved and trusty 12-yr-old AEG Oko-Lavamat. 😥 Used it on Saturday and all was well. Put in a load this morning, turned it to the desired setting and pushed on…to my surprise it immediately started to spin the full load of dry laundry. Nothing can stop it apart from turning it off; trying to select a different setting etc makes absolutely no difference. I am going to have to find an engineer but in the meantime is there anything I can do just so I can empty the machine? The door won’t open when the machine is off…and as soon as I turn the machine on it starts spinning like a mad thing!
I have been dreading this day for a long time…don’t think I’ll ever find another machine like it.
Many thanks
Re: AEG OKO-Lavamat 86720 Update on constant spin – help!
There should be an emergency door opener behind the drain filter flap at the bottom. Pull that to release the door. As for the spin on wash problem, shouldn’t be too costly to sort as it’s likely the tacho magnet has failed on the motor that’s all. 😀
Re: AEG OKO-Lavamat 86720 Update on constant spin – help!
Hi Martin. Thanks so much for your swift response! Behind the little flap at the bottom left is an emergency drain tube for draining the machine and a round circulation pump cover. There is no other sign of a switch although there is one of those round, flat screws that need a coin to turn them – could that be it?
Many thanks
