KeymasterWasher has stopped midway through cycle, F9 in display, quick wash on solid, 1500 and 900 flashing. End flashing and over dosing on solid. Can anyone point me towards the area of the fault?

Pump blockage I expect Alex, but the full model number AND the 9 digit PNC number would help 😉 ❓

KeymasterMartin, thanks for the prompt response. I have found the answer and the problem. The F9 code refers to MOTOR or MOTOR TACHO FAILURE, usually brushes and in my case it was.
For reference to clear the error: whilst holding the pre wash and the short wash buttons in together turn the control knob from off to gentle spin, the clears the error and runs a LED test.
Again, many thans, much appreciated.December 20, 2004 at 8:41 pm #119076admin

This sorted me out too – Thanks!
I have an OKO-LAVAMAT 87620 and it was a C9 error. Set dial to off, held Start button in and turned dial to Gentle Rinse.

I have exactly the same problem (F9 and same cobination of lights) as Alex with my Lavamat 6955 (Also noticed same post on another forum! 🙂
I can’t for the life of me get the machine to reset and door open to get clothes out following Alex’s instructions.
Can anyone help? Wife and 3 kids think it is a conspiracy as the service people are taking a week to turn up.Also is it possible to see if the brushes are worn – by a layman – and be replaced?

Michael,
Your machines problem is indeed the motor, usually the motor brushes. A simple and relatively inexpensive job for an expert to undertake for you. 😉
Can I advise you therefore check our “Directories” listing for an approved repairer. Just type in your Postcode 🙂

Martin,
Thanks very mush for your quick post.
It took the motor off a moment ago and removed the brushes – surprisingly easy as you say.
Certainly one of the brushes appears to have very little left. The other appears to have a little spring in it so I guess some left.
I have an engineer coming on Wed but was hoping to get it fixed more quickly.
Still……
Am I able to get a sameday delivery of these brushes from anywhere and therefore fix it on Monday? And most importantly…………how can I open the door? I have tried turning the switch to gentle rinse while holding the quick wash and pre-wash buttons but with no joy. Any help before the mould starts growing on the babies clothes?
Thanks very much

Simple 😀
On the bottom left hand side there is a white plastic slotted cap near the pump filter. Simply twist that with a 5p coin (clockwise if I remember right) and the door will fly open…..
… (plus 3 gallons of water and romper suits if you don’t watch out! :rotfl: )

Martin,
Thanks very much again.
Simple! definitely! Even for a newbie like me ❗No worries with the water….. it had already emptied.
Just very smelly….. 😥Just my final question……….
I looked in the shop on this website and it doesn’t have any brushes for AEG.
Am I really unlikely to get new ones from any where quickly?
The only place I have found is Domestic Appliances.co.uk.
http://www.domestic.co.uk/spares/020404 … 40417.html
However I can’t tell which of the brushes is the right one.
Clues gratefully received…..Thanks
P.S. Looks like you’ve spent a lot of time, money and energy on the radio gear 😀January 9, 2005 at 10:57 pm #119082Dave_Conway

Carbon brushes are not easy to identify these days Michael as manufacturers use a wide variety of motors, even on the same model.
There’s a pretty good chance the brushes you need are there in the shop but it’s a matter of identifying the correct one’s
Can you email me a photo of them (in the plastic/bakelite holders) I should be able to tell which one’s you need then 😀
Dave.

Thanks for your reply Dave.
I actually tried to track down the part in my local area but have run out of time. I was told AEG don’t list brushes as a separate orderable item for my serial number machine – 605.649 123
By the time I’d have got around to taking the photo and uploading I’d have lost more time so……..The engineer is here today. I’ll see how it goes. Rumour has it they may insist I change the whole motor – if so I’ll be back following up your request, thanks!

Call an engineer to check the other possibilities 😀
Have a look in the directories or pop up your postcode, there’s probably someone here who can assist.
Dave.
