AEG OKO_Lavamat 6100 digitronic

A sticker inside the door has following information:

It also says :

This is an old machine, but worked perfectly until 7 months ago when the carbon brushes had to be replaced. The engineer that did this said it was a good machine despite its age and well worth repairing. Since then, everything was fine until this morning when a strange metallic scraping sound was heard during spinning at the end of its wash cycle. Despite this, the clothes were well spun. The empty drum can be rotated manually, but there is a resistance to motion which wasn’t there before, and the scraping sound is audible. Ever since a bra wire disappeared inside a couple of years ago, it had made a slight scraping noise when spinning, but nothing like this. The engineer that replaced the brushes didn’t seem to think that was significant. Could anyone offer a suggestion as to what the problem is now and whether it is worth repairing please? if you look at the drum does it look like its out of true when you turn it ?

Oh dear, this is embarrassing 😳 – have just discovered my daughter used the machine and is missing a bra wire…. :rolls:
so looks like I have found the problem! Only thing now is what do I do about it? Is there a way of getting it out myself or should I call an engineer? Thanks for your advice.
