AEG SANTO 3778-8 KA temp warning light keeps coming on

Hi

Can anyone help please with the AEG SANTO 3778-8 KA?

The temperature warning light keeps flashing and bleeping. According to the manual that indicates the temperature is above 12 C and may be due to a fault.

I press the fast chill button to bring the temperature back down quickly, which it does, but a few hours later the warning light comes back on again.

How old is it?

Generally speaking it’s liable to be a system problem I think, if it’s a fair age (as I suspect) then very likely a weak pumping compressor.

Thank you for your reply.

It is only 3 and a half years old. I have the matching larder freezer so am wondering if I should try and get it repaired.

I forgot to mention in my original post, the light inside flashes on and off when the door is opened also.

No, we are still having problems.

My husband pulled the fridge out and emptied water from the back and this seemed to help for a little while but over the weekend the problem is back.

If we resolve it, I will let you know.

It was a ton!!!! It had to be hauled out to paint behind it and I don’t think he will be hurrying to repeat it.

The light inside ours flashes on and off as well. Do you also have that problem?

We are thinking we will have to get someone out to look at it, just hoping someone here might have had any idea first.

we only just moved in a week ago and the fridge seems to have a life of its own…

the temperature thing reads 5 degrees but it seems if you open the door for more than about 10 seconds the temp rises so much that the thing goes weird…

the number flashes, the light goes on and off and if I put my ear to the door I can hear the cooling mechanism going on and off too..

We have started creeping past it and not looking at it incase we upset it…

I have read a few forums about this fridge etc.. and a few of the places dont have kind words for Service Force (the official AEG repairers) so we were thinking about a local fridge person, but will keep you informed!

Problem solved! Needed to replace the PCB (£77 next day collection from local Service Force depot or could be ordered direct from AEG). Took 10 minutes to change and now good as new.
