Participantusual problem of the evaporator icing up, the defrost heater is working however. i assume that if the heater is working then i am looking at a pcb problem? thanks in advance.

Is it ice or a white frost.
If it is ice then the drain N/R/V above the compressor may be stuck so the water cannot drain away.
If it is white frost then it is normally the heater or heater stat faulty.
It is rare to have a problem with the main PCB on an AEG.

There are 45 different AEG Santo 75388’s so the PNC number would help to get the correct wiring diagram you need. 😉

As Martin said the santo covers a large range of models so you need the correct model PNC number.
The heater stats are normally on the rear of the evaporator but have different temperature settings depending on the PNC number.
It can also be an intermittent fan fault where the fan sometimes stops working then the appliance just keeps running and does not go into defrost as it try’s to maintain the temperature in the freezer.

The pnc is 928405953-01. i’ve eliminated the fan as a cause already Bob. 45 versions? bloody hell, i knew there were a few because i’m looking for a freezer draw too and it took a while to find the correct one, then it’s £30 odd quid for the draw and another £30 quid for the front :O

The NTC sensors plug in inside the freezer and fit to the evaporator.
If the defrost heater checks out ok then it is most likely the sensors.
They come as a pair and are attached to a plug that just plugs in.
