Hello all.
I have an AEG Santo fridge/freezer, model C61841i (type B256946) which stopped working randomly this morning. For several months the fridge has been making a strange whooshing/whirring noise intermittantly, different noise to the compressor which was making the same noise as usual. Approximately 3 weeks ago the back wall of the fridge froze over.
When I opened the fridge door this morning the floor of the fridge was under water (back frozen wall defrosted) and the fridge was completely silent, the light came on though when I opened the door which makes me think it was not a problem with the fuse? The compressor did not come on at all and to all intents and purposes the fridge freezer had compeltely stopped working (except the light), this scenario continued for about 2 hours until I checked again a few moments ago and the compressor was again working and the strange noise was back.
The appliance is integrated so I cant check fuses etc, although now that it is back on this is perhaps moot? Appliance is approx 5 and a half years old.
Can anyone shed any light on what the problem might be? Sorry about the wall of text I’m not used to posting on technical forums and thought it best to get as much info down as possible. 😳
