Ordered a door seal for an AEG 91400308600 and I was give a choice of two 1108590504 at £15 OR 1108590702 at £97 😯 .
I was told the expensive one was suitable for people who regularly wash garments that are contaminated with oil. I was aware that if you put oil on a door seal it would break the rubber down but this
is the first time I have been given a choice of door seals in the 10 years I have been in the trade. Is this something new? 😕
    Thanks

    £97!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
£15 ONE FOR ME REGARDLESS OF THE OIL.
IF I TOLD MY CUSTOMER THAT IT WOULD BE OVER £100 I’M SURE THEY WOULD THINK I WAS RIPPING THEM OFF.
    1ST I’VE HEARD ABOUT IT

    Re: AEG Special Door Seals

Hotpoint used to supply a special EPDM or butyl rubber door seal more than 30 years ago, we used to call it the ‘chip shop’ gasket. It was around three times the price of the standard black rubber door seal used on the 1850’s at the time. They used to disintegrate into a black sticky goo in any catering establishment. 😆

Over the years several manufacturers have supplied special gaskets for extreme conditions. A common cause of early failure in modern machines is when a member of the family has bad eczema, the special creams used today leads to door seals swelling and going tacky in a matter of months.

Bosch supply a resistant doorseal. Cust has had 2 fitted to wff2000due to kids requiring emollient on skin.
