I have an AEG Favorit 8081-W dishwasher. The spray arm alarm keeps sounding (several times per cycle) even if the machine is empty, but I can’t find anything wrong.

I’ve installed a new spray arm but it still beeps. I’ve tried removing both spray arms and both baskets and it still beeps. The spray arm spins freely and is often spinning when I open the door during a cycle.

I’ve stripped the machine down and there is no sign of leaks.

I’m at my wits end! Can anyone give me any clues please?

No replies – which is not surprising but a bit depressing! I can’t spend my life waiting by the dishwasher every night to open & close the door every time it beeps! If I can’t solve this I’ll have no choice but to buy a new machine.

One thought – can anyone tell me how to identify and disconnect the spray arm sensor or alarm? That might give the machine a reprieve from the scrapheap!

The top spray arm has a magnet inside at one end which can move out of place with time if thats ok it has to the sensor which clipped within the door in the centre and is rectangular usually cream coloured and has two wires of it . You carnt by-pass it as far as im aware.
