Hi all,
This machine gets lots of use, i.e. used almost everyday. Over a period of a year the dying times have got longer and longer. Sometimes it would run with the heaters switched off and just tumble the clothes cold. Also the start/pause LED would flash yellow which I believe is a fault code.
All of this was cured by cleaning the ground brush on the drum rear, and turning the carbon brush round by 180 degrees on the drum front top contact. The resistance on the front brush had risen to 70kohm. After reversing the brush it was 5ohms!
Before long I’ll have to replace the brush, but this was a cheap quick fix, a lot less than a new PCB…
I did all this about 6 weeks ago and have had no problems since. I’m not a white goods engineer, but am in the consumer electronics business – so have a basic idea of what’s happening!
Hope this helps someone. 🙂 SJM.
