    Just wondering if anyone can offer any advice? My dryer is working intermittantly, occassionally giving a long hum then stopping or just stopping randomly mid cycle. Could this be the capacitor? It just seems strange that it would stop mid cycle if it is?

    Not at all strange, the capacitor is used to kick the motor into action so if it is failing then it could stop at any of the times the machine reverses.
