    Hi,

I have a AEG T6DBG721N which is failing after approximately 3 mins into a cycle. Condenser and filters have been cleaned, pump is spinning under power and water does make it to the collection tank drawer, but fails with empty water tank message despite actually being empty.

Unit is 2.5 years old and received a new heater approximately 18months into ownership. Assume it’s either pump not operating fully, float sensor or control board? Before I try a pump anybody have any ideas or possible solutions?

    Thanks

well I would check float first as that is telling the board about the problem

Thanks Dave, interestingly the pump is always running in cycle and float is moving as expected, but if I push the float up to the top of its holder where the magnet would make close contact, it does not trigger the empty water tank message, which I would expect.

on some machines is not a direct connection between sensor and lamp so it does not always do it instantly

Update in case anyone else experiences the same issue with this machine.

I further tested the float and sensor switch (this model is a reed switch) with a multimeter. I found that the reed switch was always closed, causing the pump to run constantly and the machine to display the empty tank message. I could have soldered a new reed switch, but decided to replace the full float and switch. I received an updated part design, which has been fitted. This has now solved the issue, and the machine is back working as expected.
