AEG T88595IS Heat pump dryer – No power

Hello, this looks like a useful forum, glad to have found it!

My AEG dryer model T88595is won’t power on. It was functioning fine until last weekend and randomly worked again last night.

It had a new motor about 2 years ago and it’s a good machine when it works! Would like to save it from the tip if possible…any thoughts on what could be stopping it turning on?

first thought is always the socket
after that i tend to check the board power supplies

one of the probems with later mahines is they are not off but are in standby. this means power supply components can fail even if its not in use at the time

Noted, thank you. The socket is fine as the washing machine is running from the same socket with no issues.

Lid off and multi meter job? Or bin it and get a new machine…

I’m wondering if the parts cost would render it a write off anyway?

is washer in exactly the same socket or the other half of a double. have had one socket go faulty

if its does turn on every now and then check the on off switch

but my thought tend towards the power supply chip on the board so looking at this depends on your skill level

Thanks Dave, I think I’ll take the lid off this weekend and see if it’s something simple.

My guess is the board power supply chip and you would have to be able to test electronic components to fault find it.

but cant do any harm to look as long as the plug is out

Probably one half of the double socket is nuked no harm in visually having a damn good look with the power off!. Pretty common with tumble dryers used to get this a lot and the actual plug doesn`t always give you a clue to that either.
