Hi there – I’m really hoping someone can help me. We have an AEG touch control slip in oven, which has developed a fault whereby the hob top either switches on and then straight off again, or simply won’t switch on. The problem comes and goes; is worst for the hob I use the most, but doesn’t seem to affect the touch controls for the oven (not yet, at least, fingers crossed!). Sometimes switching it off at the wall and restarting seems to clear the problem, but not always. It isn’t an especially old cooker, wasn’t cheap to buy, but I can’t find the paperwork and have a nasty feeling it may be out of the 5 year guarantee period. Any help, advice or suggestions would be most welcome,

    Many thanks

Likely its a circuit board fault or the cabling between the boards. Common problem on them but not cheap to repair if it requires boards.
