AEG U7101-4 main oven not switching on

Hi All. The top oven works fine, but the main oven will not switch on at all. The clock is set correctly. When I try and switch on the lower oven, nothing comes on (not the light, not the fan or none of the elements, the controls do not light up). I have replaced the circular fan element and checked it for continuity and its OK. I have also checked the main element for continuity and its OK. As suggested by someone else, I took the top off the oven and in the back of the control panel is a cooling fan. There are two stats next to the fan and the one closest to the fan checks ok for continuity and the one just next to it (closer to the control panel) is open circuit. so I thought this was the problem but the new replacement is also open circuit. I am not sure if the replacement is also faulty.

Please, I would most appreciate if anyone has any suggestions.

The stats are fine, the front one should be open circuit. It’s looking like a duff timer to me. 🙁

Many thanks Martin for the suggestion. Do you mena I should replace the clock? Do you by any chance know of a way to test this?

Please don’t quote me but I’m suggesting the fault may well be the electronic timer unit based on the information you have given. I don’t believe there is any way of testing the timer as I have no clue about electronics so I cannot be sure. But as a rule we here in the trade replace the whole unit anyway.
