ParticipantHi, I need to buy a washer dryer and after days of research have narrowed it down to either AEG L7WEE965R or Samsung, probably WD90J6A10AW.
AEG only give 2 years warranty whereas Samsung gives 5 years. To extend 2 years to 5 years would cost about £150.
I have found Samsung WD90J6A10AW for £100+ less than AEG L7WEE965R, but don’t know if this reflects quality as prices offered vary so much.
Could you comment on these brands and advise on whether either of these washer dryers is a good reliable model, or suggest a better one in a similar price range please?
Thank you 🙂 [h=1][/h]November 26, 2020 at 7:07 pm #473519don
ModeratorDo you really need a washer dryer?
If you have room for two separate machines that is the way to go. If not then yes it’s your only option, the only one that does what it says is the Miele but at over 1k not an option.
Out of your two machines I would go with the AEG ( Zanussi in a skirt) as the majority of engineers get to see their products more, the spare parts are easier to obtain and are better value. Samsung on the hand, spares are sporadic at best from Korea and very little tech info available.
Just my opinion 😉

ParticipantThank you for your opinion Don 🙂
The issue was not so much space as that two separate machines seem to cost considerably more than one combined machine. Dryers alone appear to be quite expensive, so to get two separate machines for a similar price, the washing machine would have to be something like a Hotpoint NSWF943CW. Would the quality of such a machine be any good?
I was attracted by Samsung and AEG because they have longer labour and parts warranty than most other makes. How important do you think this is?

Moderatorhaving combined machines is always a comprimise. you can also not tumble dry full loads
Samsung tech inof for the independants like ourselves is hard to get plus parts are in my opinion over priced
AEG is a zanussi in disguise but at least we can get tech info for them if needed

What is your opinion on the Hotpoint NSWF943CW washing machine? It seems to have all the functions of the AEG and Samsung but at a much lower price.

Moderatoras i have said before on these forums think what your paying
you are paying 20{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} vat so on say a £400 machine thats £66. Then the retailer has to make a profit. its got to be shipped around the world, the manufacturer has not only to make a profit but pay for research on future model
so when you boil it down there not much left to buy the raw materials, get the machinery to manufacture it and pay staff to build the machine
in other words you get what you pay for
