Hi , We have been asked to look at an AEG washing machine model L74810 PNC 91400343101 . This machine went faulty with a blown module ( we have seen it and it was definitly blown ) . An independent service engineer went to the machine , tested out the components and said that all was ok just the module was faulty . He has now fitted a new board .

The machine when switched to a program has no display . The door can be heard to lock , but nothing else happens . There are no lights on at all , not even the door lock .

We are thinking that this new module must be faulty . Any one any thoughts on this ?

We are in an awkward position as we have not been involved from the beginning and are just looking at the machine as a favour .

Well then a real close visual inspection of the old module and that may well lead you to the external component that caused it to blow? Based on what you have also said, I suspect that the new module may also have failed because something has caused it to go? (motor?heater?wiring? etc)

Also the ribbon connection between the display and power module is a caution. As is the interlock (although it appears to be working OK) 😕

Almost unheard of for a board to blow on its own, drain pump and doorlock are two common causes on these machines.

Most Lux boards need to be configured unless it was bought as configured in the first place..

If you still have the old PCB it might be worth trying to identify which components are connected to the area of damage.
