I’ve got a six year old AEG Lavamat Turbo WL77695WD washer drier.

It’s started finishing the wash cycle with two or three inches of soapy water left in the drum.

I guess it is either the pump or the control board which is failing, but would appreciate any suggestions.

The main bearing is also on the way out, so I need to decide if it worthwhile spending on repairs at all!

    Many thanks

    sounds more like a blockage

have you checked the filter recently ?

    Thanks Dave,

I’m afraid so, it’s as clean as a whistle.

We do check it regularly and never use the drier function. When it empties during the cycle there appears to be good flow, so I don’t think there is blockage.

Just to confuse things, I just did a load and it appears to have worked perfectly.

    Cheers

had a bosch the other week that did that
ended up finding a button half way up the outlet hose

the blockage does not have to be total just enough to slow the pump rate down

if it was me now, i would fill it with water on a rinse ( no washing) then stop programme and let it drain and see if it drains slowly or quickly

your blockage if you have one could be in the hose between the drum and the filter

Thanks again for the advice Dave,

The draining speed seems ok, and I’m now pretty sure the problem lies with the control board. It’s taken to missing out whole sections, so a 3.5 hour cycle is taking 1.5 hours.

I’d like to replace it, but the best price I’ve seen for a board is £170, plus about the same for a drum unit (apparently you can’t replace the bearing on it’s own!) so I think it is new machine time.

I’m thinking of one of the Samsung smart washers. Have you had any experience of them?

    Cheers

try disconnecting the wires to vther dryer heater and see if thingd improve

as for Samsung not as bit fan , little or no tech backup, expensive parts and somer parts are an absolute pig to get at to change
have done 2 recently where i had to get into the pump to remove a blockage, simple job on most machines but not on a samsung
