AEG washer dryer not drying

We have an AEG washer dryer (L7WEG851R, PNC 91460381100) that has stopped drying – the drums rotates but the dryer heater doesn’t turn on. I’ve run a diagnostic on the machine which reported error code E73. This seems to be a fault with the NTC thermostat on the heater – I connected a multimeter across the terminals of the NTC (while still connected) and it reported zero ohms, implying a short. I would therefore like to replace the thermostat but I’m having great trouble identifying the correct part online – the nearest visual match is a “manual reset thermostat” but this has a reset button, which the original does not have. Can anyone help me identify the correct part and a possible source?

Dave, you were right. I was actually looking at the wrong sensor – a second dryer NTC hidden under the frame had a broken wire to the connector. I replaced this with a new spade connector and, hey presto, everything’s working again. Cheers, Andy
