AEG washing m/c soap box motor.

Called out to a 74620w today. Three cogs jumping teeth on top of soap box with error CE. Any bright sparks know what its purpose is, how it works and how to replace it? Any info gratefully received as I do not want to #### it up.

hi its the water distributer, electrically driven on these, dont no if they can me repaired, have previously only replaced. not difficult to do, though havent done one in a while, there are two different part numbers depending on product number

This is quite common its purpose is to select the right chamber for water
inlet don’t bother trying to fix it replacement part comes complete with
top of soap box

8996454308306 is the part number £42 odd.

it sends a signal back to the timer when it has selected the correct compartment, hence the error code if it doesnt work.
