ParticipantDear team
sorry for my English, it is quite difficult to describe technical problem in English. But anyway AEG L16850A is washing machine wih dryer. It stopped (dryer) working now. I checked and found that dryer motor is not powerfull enough to start to rotate ventilator. However when I helped with fingers it started to rotate at some speed and then this speed was slowly decreasing, but still rotating. When I removed fan belt away, motor started to rotate quickly, when I tried with my hand ventilator, I had feeling that it is quite easy to rotate.
Do you have any idea how to diagnose what is wrong? As each part (ventilator set, fan motor etc.) is quite expensive to check.
Many thanks
V

it sounds like the ventilator itself. if you take the belt off does it spin easily

Dear Dave many thanks for your answer, I had a feeling that motor (fan motor) in general can be working or not working. But this starts to rotate quickly, sometimes I have to start it with my hand and then dropping down in rotation. Please can you see video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxcaeUv6XRo&t=12s ? Drying operation starts at 1m38sec
Do you still think it is fan motor? I will gladly replace it.
Many thakns

something is getting stiff after it start off. from my experience only ever had the fan fails but there is always a first time for the motor
you have to feel the fan to see if it stiff to turn. if its the motor it will be a bearing fault and you shouls feel play in the bearings.
when its going if you push pause and then start it again does it then jam

Dear team
so it was ventilator itself, I am not sure how, but it could work in described way – i.e. after start it was creating more and more resistance for motor and rotations were dropping down.
Anyway, I ordered new and removed old one, there was a lot of fibres inside (and also in connected condensed), I cleaned condensed which was also full of fibres, I cleaned ventilator with stream of water from garden hose-pipe.
after that I realized that I can turn ventilator much more easily and tried to return back.
All is OK now, it is more noisy compared what I can remember, but anyway I have already ordered replacement part.
So now I have confirmation that it was indeed ventilator and wanted to thank you all here in the forum.
