ParticipantHi
Great forum guys, thanks in advance.
My AEG 72620 (PNC 914 001 331 00) washes OK but the door lock no longer releases at the end of the cycle, (I now use the little gadget by the pump to open the door, again thanks to this forum for that hint)
I have had the lid off and cleaned out the waste chamber including the little overflow pipe thingy. I have checked the pump chamber and the impeller turns fine. I have had the water pipe off and checked the input filter which was clean, cleaned out all the little holes above the soap tray, poured a couple of litres of water in following draining it, run a full wash cycle but it still wont open. No fault codes at all, seems OK bar that.Any suggestions most gratefully received.

ParticipantDoor handle probably broken internally – moves but doesn’t do anything?
Part number is 8996452950-81/1, about a fiver from memory. Contact spares@ukwhitegoods.com to order.

Thanks for the reply, do you mean the bit fixed to the body of the machine (door interlock?) that the door clips into not the actual handle on the door which seems ok to me.
The door light does not go to green at the end of the cycle hence the release mechanism does not trip.

In that case, you want 8996453073-70/3 – door interlock – about £21 + VAT etc. As a temporary measure, a sharp tap on the casing next to the door handle will often shock the lock into releasing!

Could be a bit more serious than that. As the interlock will not release until the timer/control is certain that either the drum is not turning or there is no water left, a problem with either of the deices that detect that could be the problem.
