The seal on my current freezer is falling off and thus it’s frosting constantly. Before enacting a repair job, I was wondering if it’s worth replacing. This got me wondering how old the thing was…how can I find out?
I have some information..it’s a Bosch, model number GSL 1202/GB 02
New door seal is part number 00209982 and costs £22 direct from the Bosch web site. Fitting is best achieved by first immersing the seal in hand hot water or by applying heat from a hand held hairdryer prior to fitting. 🙂
Brilliant – thanks Martin. And is there any way to tell how old the freezer is? It looks fairly old and I’m thinking longer term it may be a good opportunity to replace it (if old and yearly running costs are high)
Wow that’s a lot older than I was expecting! It came with the house and I never really gave it’s age a second thought until the door seal started falling off :-s
Maybe it is time to replace then!
How did you find out the age Don? I’ve spent the last few days trying to find that out and google didn’t seem to have the answer!
