    Hi,

I have been to a Tricity Bendix TM220W tumble dryer that is not heating. I have checked element, thermostats etc, and all are ok. I can only think that the timer/programmer is faulty. Can a faulty timer cause no heat from the element..?

Have you checked the stat inside the drum above the door. It’s usually this one that goes.

Thanks chaps…. Bazza, I thought there might be a stat in the drum, and I looked for one, but nothing seen..? It is just the filter around the door, but no stat seen… Do I take it that there should be one on this model then? There is a stat at the bottom of the machine on the exhaust….

On a lot of Zanussi dryers there is a stat located inside the door surround, right at the very top, inside, just left of centre, a bit of a fiddle but held in by two screws. Lie it on it’s back and you should be able to see it better from there.

That’s the ’54deg Cycling Stat’ (normally closed) in the front duct you’ve spotted. The only others are on the heater box on this old girl.

Ah OK, thank you Martin… I got a measurement through the 54deg cycling stat, so I think I might be safe in ordering a new timer then?
