KeymasterI’d rather not thanks. Being that I would be seen to be self-promoting bla bla, I’d rather remain neutral and advise as the situation demands.
It is a cracking idea though, better still if it were used on other web forums as well though to increase traffic onto Repairs@.
However, just so you guys know that the effort isn’t wasted…
Since my post the other day about Repairs@ (look what you’re missing) there has been another >150 calls placed on Repairs@ with about 100 actually being successful as the cover has increased massively over the past few months. The biggest problem is getting people to sign up to it given the detail required in the form, which is of course for everyone’s benefit, but some seem a little lazy.
Believe it or not we’ve had three this week all with he old form and two sent to the old address! The new form’s been up over a month and the new address for about six months, that just shows apathy.

No probs there Ken though I fail to understand your reasoning here as we are all in the same boat as independents anyway. 😕
As a point of interest and to digress slightly, I’ve been flogging Repairs@ and making great issue of it lately as well you know, yet I haven’t had a Repairs@ call for several weeks. 😯
Just take a look at all those pushpins on the UK map and I’m in the midst of all that lot, yet not one bloody call of late….!!

KeymasterI run the site, that’s not independent on this subject and I think I’ve promoted it to death. 😉
It depends what you’ve said you will and won’t do as to what calls you get and what people are looking to get fixed. NWAR doesn’t get many either, others get loads.

Instead of typing “Check repairs@ for a UKW engineerin your area”, I now have to type “Check the link in my signature for a UKW engineer”.
Don’t think I’ve actually gained anything from this exercise……..

Another idea bites the dust like so many others before them …… 🙄

It saves me having to open a text file then copy/paste the html in to a reply so it actually saves me quite a bit of time, I also don’t need to view after posting to check that it worked 😀
I’ve seen on a few other “tech” forums that most of the admin and mods use their signatures for an awful lot more than we do but it often gets untidy and can appear rude at times as I’ve seen some say “Absolutely no support by Email or PM” etc (much as I’d like to use that at times 😉 )

So he doesn’t suss it…
If that asshole Softus starts or responds to my post in anything other than an apologetic manner when I’m not about please delete the posts, of course keeping a copy of it so I can fire back at him.
If it gets really grim one of us with Admin will remove his access from any forum.
I will not tolerate trolling, I had enough of that many years ago on newsgroups and various email lists to last me a lifetime.
