ParticipantThis may appear to be a somewhat sexist notion, but nevertheless I think a vital topic in order for workmen to fully understand the inner workings of the female mind. 🙄 So that they may be given the requisite skills and know-how when dealing with the fairer sex to the mutual advantage and clearer understanding so both may benefit (possibly even Penguins can learn from this as well 😉 )
So here are a few typical scenarios :
Lady Customer: “I finish work at 3 pm and get home by 3:15!”
Engineers interpretation should be : Give allowances for her to freshen up her makeup in the works loo before she leaves, then has to change her high heeled office shoes for her driving shoes before starting the car, then her friend rings her mobile and they chat in the car park for a few minutes. The journey home is unusually frought with roadworks etc etc.
Conclusion: Don’t even bother knocking on her door until at least 3:30 or better still 4 just to be sure she gets home to let you in!Lady Customer : “I was at home all morning waiting for him and he left a card saying he called at 10:30!!”
Engineers interpretation should be: They always take a bath or start vacuuming the back bedroom when they know someone is due to call.
Conclusion: Buy one of those pocket attack alarms, If they don’t answer the doorbell after a couple of times, open the letterbox then let it rip. (those things wake the dead anyway)Female work allocator : I’ve just had this very nice man ring me with a problem machine that needs fixing. I’ve looked at your calls for today and noticed you have another in the same street. So I told him you would call by!”
Engineers interpretation should be: She clearly is a push-over towards a smooth talking mans voice.
Conclusion: Lay on your best sweet talking charm by telling her to enjoy ringing the man back to say you are too busy to do it today- sorry!….and so on…!

Had a call today, booked as a first call at customer request.
I called at 8.00am which is late for me, it’s usually 7.30.
Silly cow had gone shopping.
She phoned me at 9.00… “Where are you? I made sure I was home by 9 as I didn’t want to miss you. I know you lads like to start early…”
:haier: Duh?

Lady customer: “Oh yes the machine pulls straight out without any trouble, my husband got it out last night!”
Engineers interpretation should be: She obviously does all the delegating and her husband knows when to quit.
Conclusion: Whatever happened last night is best kept private, instead look carefully at the plumbing and electrics and remove machine with great caution! -
