Am I being swizzed???

Hi – newbie here 🙂

I bought a Stoves Envoy range cooker 2nd hand and have had trouble with the bottom oven retaining heat – its a gas oven but although it seems to burn well when you first turn it on, the flame soon drops and the heat is never built up.

The thing is – I spoke to my “gas man” the other day on another matter and mentioned to him that we were having trouble with the oven – he mentioned that it was probably the oven thermostat – but said if it was, we were looking at “hundreds of pounds” to put it right.

I’ve just spoken to the Stoves parts line and they said it will be about £30 for the part!!!

Comments on the best way forward would very much be appreciated.

The ONLY way forward is to call in Stoves themselves to fit a new thermostat and give your oven a full safety check :tup:
