Way back on October 1st 2007 a customer phoned me and asked if I could sort his WIDL126UK washer dryer out? It had stopped full of water and he couldn’t get his washing out. That he was going on holiday and needed it fixed that very Monday? I couldn’t oblige due to short time slot so I assumed he got help elsewhere?
He didn’t get anyone to sort it meanwhile, left the machine as it was and went on holiday to Australia and New Zealand 😯
Now you would have thought that any right minded person would at least have switched it off? Especially as you have a smart 5 bed detached house worth in the region of 650K…? Turned everything off in fact as he planned to be away for 24 weeks….!!!!!!
Anyway, 24 weeks later he returns and rings me to get the machine sorted. I called by today to find the machine full of water and towels with the door locked and still switched on! 😯
I switched it off, tipped it back enough to clear the water from the door, waited for the interlock to release. Dragged out the by now disintagrated towels and yuck, flicked open the filter housing and plucked a hairgrip from the pump!
All hail to Indesit I hear you cry?…….Over 168 days that interlock was on and holding fast. It works just fine in spite of it all….incredible but true!
How the hell that didn’t catch fire and his house burn to cinders I will never figure?
Another amazing Indesit story…. :rotl:
