    Hi,

I’m new to the forum so go easy on me 😳

Our fridge freezer is due to be replaced as our old one is now very old and we have always wanted an american style fridge freezer for the extra space and chilled water/ice cubes.

The wife has 3 different ones she likes (all look like they will do the job fine) but neither of us know which is the better make to get and less likely to cause us trouble in the future. Any advice is very welcome.

the 3 american fridge freezers we are looking at are listed below. budget up to £1800

    PANASONIC NR-B53V1-XB
    SIEMENS iQ500 KA62DA71GB
    BOSCH Logixx KAD62S21

Or if you have any other models in this price range that you would recommend over these 3 please let me know

    Thanks

    Mr G

If only ‘admin’ got £1 for every time someone says that on here. :rolls:

Your choices are good, though I cringe at the thought of Panasonic. They make great TV’s but god knows who makes the fridges for them and what village in China they nail them together….our man in Devon may know when he returns from his extended Bank Holiday though. 😀

    Thanks for the reply

So avoid the Panny then? It was the cheapest of the 3 and came with a 5 year warranty and like you say I have a panny plasma which is great so though it would be made in Japan and be good quality.

Out of the 3 we are leaning more to the Bosch as first choce, it is the most expensive normally but I have managed to find it for £1599 when it normally retails over 2k. My knowledge of fridge freezers is pretty much zero, so just want to make sure I am buying a good unit.

I’m sure your choice of Bosch is a good one, certainly the price sounds excellent. Don (our top man on fridge/freezers, resides in Devon) is the real expert to confide in but it’s a long weekend and likely as not won’t pick up this thread on the subject until Wednesday at the earliest…but if can wait, might well confirm our mutual thoughts here. 😀

Bosch and Siemens are from the same stable, good products for the price. If my budget was around these prices that would be the way to go IMO.

The only ones that are going to beat them would be GE and Liebherr, but then you would need to double the budget 😉

    HTH 🙂

    Hello.. me again.

Sorry to trouble you guys once again. I’m now ready to order up the “BOSCH Logixx KAD62S21 American-Style Fridge Freezer” but can anyone tell me how easy/hard it is to remove and refit the front doors on these units as they will need to come off to fit through my front door 😮

    Thanks
