American side by side fridge freezer keeps blowing electrics

Hi my Maytag side by side American fridge freezer keeps blowing the electrics. I had domestic and general insurance and they sent an hotpoint engineer out ( apparently hotpoint now own Maytag) and was told it was an original Maytag and not a hotpoint with a Maytag badge so they no longer stock the parts so they classed the fridge as not economically worth fixing, the engineer mentioned it might be the defrost element which clicks in approximately every 8 hours so if we keep turning the fridge of every now and again this would work but you can’t keep doing that. Do you know if it would be this part and if so can you still buy original Maytag parts, thanks

Yes it is a good chance it is the defrost element and it should be available if you list the model I can check if it is available.
