Amica AWCM 10L not working with fault code

Hi

As per the topic header, my Amica AWCM 10L washer isn’t working.

It brings up a fault code which isn’t in the user manual and I don’t have a service manual so not sure what the problem is.

The fault code is as follows:

END light on with STANDBY flashing
40, 30 and COLD are all lit up, with no other lights on or flashing.

I did a little bit of research and found out that the motor brushes are a common fault with this model, and found a YouTube instruction video on how to clean them. However I tried that and it has made no difference.

I just wondered if anybody is familiar with this particular model and can help me diagnose the fault before I get an engineer in..

Don’t you just love some of absolute garbage on YouTube.

You don’t clean brushes, you clean the commutator and replace the brushes if worn.

Attempting to get the machine running whenever the brushes have failed by fiddling with the old brushes is only likely to do more damage to the motor.

Thanks for the link, but mine doesn’t have the screen that displays codes in that format, it used the temperature LEDs to display faults
