Hi folks,
I had a faulty pump on my washing machine which I have replaced. The original had it’s impeller sheared off. Unfortunately, the one I replaced it with had a seized motor although it was supposed to be a guaranteed spare part.
I ordered another from ebay but this time, I checked that the impeller turned. It did with a slight ‘jerk’ which I assume is caused by the armature moving past permanent magnet poles as it turns. As an aside, I also replaced that ridiculous plastic discharge hose (which had become twisted and deformed) with a 22mm ID, silicone hose which does not crush.
However, when I came to fire up the machine again, the pause/start button light changed from amber to solid red. According to the data, this indicates an under voltage from the mains to the machine which patently is not the case. I can only assume that the seized motor may have caused something to burn out on the control board.
Presumably the control board is behind the control fascia but I cannot find out how to remove it to check the board. Can anyone help?
