Amica AWCT10L Power Loss

Went out to this machine tonight and replaced Detergent Hose, Motor, & PCB since the detergent hose was leaking all over the motor, the motor was covered in rust, and the machine had died (no power).

After replacing the parts I tested the machine and all was fine so I put the machine on a spin test… again, all fine.. water test, all fine, so I had the customer sign off the sheet and I went on my merry way to my next job.

10 mins ago I got a call off this customer; she said that she put the machine on a full wash and it was great… lovely and quiet and went through the wash completely with no problems at all… She put in her second wash and shut the door, she pressed start and the door locked… after 1 or 2 seconds the machine went off again… dead again (no power) then the door lock opened.

To me it sounds like door lock or water solenoid, but door lock works and she had just done a full wash…

Any ideas?

Hi George

Did you glue up the small grey breather hose on the back of dispenser when you replaced dispenser hose?

They leak from here and run down drum on to motor?

So may well have damage board again.

Went back to this yesterday… changed the door lock & PCB… No further calls from the woman, as of yet… Obviously intermittant door lock problem.

Steven… Thanks for the tip… I also glued that pipe for future safety.

I was gunna say had the same kind of problem a few weeks ago. All signed off out the door ,call 10 mins later no power again. Replaced door switch and PCB all ok now. 😀
