Can anyone tell me if its possible to replace a freezer door seal on a AMP6852 fridge-freezer (Diplomat?). MFI telesales re unclear about this. If so – is it easy to do?

    Hi ergo,

Yes you can replace the seal itself, about £30-ish and it’s relatively easy most of the time if a bit, footery.

If you want on I’ll add it to the online shop for you.

It is listed as a part, with a part number of 406017300 but I would carefully look at your original seal and see if you can get it off first. The manufacturer is extremely good at supplying items that on further inspection you find are not replaceable.

Looking at the seal it looks like its stuck to the door – there are no screws – how do you take it off to replace it?

It is either pushed into a groove that runs around the edge of the door itself or it is non replaceable. If you try and pull it along one of the edges it should pop out of the groove, if you cant seem to move it without damaging the door then it is sealed and cannot be replaced.

    Hi Dales
One edge of the seal appears to be firmly stuck to the door and wouldn’t appear to budge short of ripping it off and damaging the door. Thanks for your help – I think I obviously need to either buy a new door or probably better replace the whole fridge (with a different model!)..
