This one when set to programme 1,2,3,5,6 or7 starts to fill for about 2 seconds, then stops filling, and activates the outlet pump. It then starts a controlled spin. After spinning for about 2 minutes it stops and then fills and starts the wash, it then moves to the small red dot and heats in the normal way. 😯 I didnt wait for it to finish heating to see what happened after.

On programme 9,10 and 11 which are delicate/wool, the machine works fine.

Have checked the following– Pressure system, pressure switch (2 clicks), inlet valves, heater, loose connections, and that the indicator dial is lined up correctly. Pump was changed about a month ago as partially siezed.

I know we should never suspect control units as they can be affected by many external problems with the machine, but this one surely makes me think it is.

    Any suggestions PLEASE 🙂

    Malc,

Dunno mate, I have never ever needed to change a Timer on this model as the main faults are either pumps, heaters or blocked air bell (according to my 34 records of the exact same model that I have fixed)

It certainly sound very strange and I think I would make the same conclusion to be honest 😕

You did megger that heater AND thermistor didn’t you? They can lead you a merry dance if overlooked 😉

It sounds like the timer is hanging at the end of the prewash sequence, rather than stepping through. You will hear a quick squirt of water and a burst of pump as the dial steps round to the main wash programme, but the motor shouldn’t activate.

    Controller I suspect. 🙁

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Bit steep that, isn’t it? QER have them as refurbished units for around the £40 mark. Contact http://www.qer.biz or 01900-67913 (no, there isn’t a digit missing) with the number on the timer.

    Cheers,
    Chris.
